This mixed media installation attempts to challenge our perspectives of history and time. The work is based on Trafalgar Square in London, a famously recognisable location which represents the city. However, Trafalgar Square once was very different. When the area was excavated to create what we now see, numerous bones and fossils where discovered from species such as straight-tusked elephant, bison, rhinoceros and more, animals we would normally associate with the African grasslands. These animals would have once been numerous throughout Europe and Trafalgar Square would have been a large watering hole like environment in the valley where London now exists. Certain tree species such as oak, ash and elm, trees considered very English, may have evolved alongside these animals and developed certain traits
